The CICA scheme is designed to compensate the victims of violent crimes, such as:

assaults, sexual abuse, rapes, domestic violence, and other forms
of physical abuse.
Each case is very different, but if you were a victim of an unprovoked
assault, you may be eligible.
Detailed below are a few example cases*:
Case 1 : Award of £5,150
Client was the victim of a random attack in the street causing injuries to his legs.
Case 2 : Award of £2,000
Client was the victim of violence in her home. She received various injuries leaving visible scarring. The original CICA decision was to reject the application as they felt the medical evidence was not supportive. The decision was overturned at review based on further medical evidence and an award was made.
Case 3 : Award of £11,000
Client was a victim of a sexual assault.
Case 4 : Award of £5,885
Client was a shopkeeper. His assailants entered the
shop and assaulted him. The incident
was racially motivated. The CICA made an initial offer however this was low. The application was taken to review and the award was increased.
